Abstract

The Iraqi people suffered from many crises that befell the
country throughout the previous period, specifically after 2003, which
had a significant impact on political stability, which necessitated
international action regarding it. The most important of these
international trends was the United Nations decision to establish its
mission in Iraq for the purposes of protecting human rights. Namely,
(the UNAMI mission), in addition to other objectives that serve the
purposes set forth in the charter of the international organization. The
mission’s work actually began after the year above and was at its
peak after the sectarian events in the country in 2007, as well as after
the entry of ISIS after 2014, and continues. The mission has worked
so far in the areas of preserving and protecting human rights in the
country.
